A while back I decided that I wasn’t going to wait for a partner to start living. So when I want to go somewhere or do something, I do it. So this summer’s to do list includes a bunch of things I’ve already done, but they are things that I enjoy.
The summer will officially start when I attend Mensa-CON (aka this year’s Mensa Annual Gathering) in San Diego. I’m already a huge fan of San Diego, so when I found out this year’s AG was in San Diego it was a no brainer. On top of that, my best friend is a newer member of Mensa, so we’re making it a group vacation including me, my Mom, my best friend, her husband, and her son. There are also a couple of guests with great nerd cred: Wil Wheaton and Walter O’Brien.
Then, just a few weeks later, it’s my fourth time at San Diego Comic Con aka Nerd Mecca. It will be my third year volunteering. It should be interesting this year as it will be their first time using RFID badges for SDCC.
The summer of sun continues with a brief birthday trip to Walt Disney World. I’m determined to make the most of my Six Flags Great Adventure season pass, too! As of right now, it looks like the summer will conclude with another con – FanExpo Canada.
Amongst all this fun, I’ll be working on a few other things. I’m commencing my next academic chapter with a course in Public Speaking, and I’ll be preparing all of my Sea Cadets for summer training. I’m also working on getting back on the fitness wagon (after having broken a bone in my hand this spring…a short and uninteresting story).
So, how are you living this summer?
